News & MediaAXA again partnering with ATEQ to keep schoolkids safe

Ever loyal to its partner, the Association du transport écolier du Québec (ATEQ), AXA is enthusiastically renewing its commitment as the main sponsor of the 23rd edition of the association’s safety campaign. Once again built around the slogan “Do you see me?”, the campaign will run from January 31 to February 11, 2011.

During the campaign period, a radio spot featuring the message will be broadcast on nearly 30 Quebec stations from Monday to Friday during peak listening hours. Through the spot, ATEQ and AXA are seeking to remind drivers of the importance of being careful when encountering or following a school bus.

A number of promotional and information tools will also be made available to schoolchildren and drivers. A poster campaign is planned not only for school daycare centres but also for driving schools, government buildings and the Restaurants, Parkings et Village Vacances Valcartier networks by Zoom Média. And, this year once again, a leaflet specifically for parents will be distributed in classrooms.

Convinced of the value of such a campaign, which aims to protect the thousands of schoolchildren who take a school bus in the morning and evening, AXA has supported ATEQ’s awareness activities for more than 20 years. “This support is in addition to our various prevention initiatives and goes well beyond our role as an insurer,” said Johanne Labrèche, Manager, Operations, Commercial Automobile Insurance, at AXA. “That’s because, for us, prevention is the best way to ensure the safety of the main users of school transportation, our children.” With the “Do you see me?” campaign, AXA reminds drivers to slow down as well as to stop when they see the flashing lights—small actions that can go a long way to keeping our schoolkids safe.
